Drew Frasz 08 County Board - Kane District 26
A Proven Civic Leader Who Listens
Aurora, North Aurora, Montgomery
Small areas of these three communities are located in District 26. I will work with you and your village officials to promote smart growth, public safety, and tax relief as well as respond to any of your concerns on other issues.

Big Rock
Transportation
The citizens of Big Rock voted 88% against the building of the Prairie Parkway in a recent advisory referendum. I will honor that position with my opposition to it, and truly “represent” the position of the people of Big Rock township at the county board level.

Agriculture
I will support the current Kane County Farmland Preservation Program as well as supporting the needs of our agricultural industry.

Boundary Agreements
The county board representative for District 26 is in an ideal position to work with our rural communities when municipal boundary agreements are in question. I would seek fair and mutually agreeable solutions when this issue arises.

Elburn
Transportation
When I was a child, the number of freight trains on the Union Pacific west line was just a few per day. Today it is over 100 per day. For Elburn to remain economically viable with the downtown grinding to a halt every few minutes to wait for a train to pass, will be a challenge. The Anderson Road overpass/bypass will need to be a top priority. Also, long-term planning for future transportation needs will need to be started now before land development blocks opportunities for Rt. 47 realignment and new railroad crossing options.

Representation
I have met with many elected officials, community leaders, city staff and local citizens and many are disappointed in the level of responsiveness and representation the village is getting from our current representative. I pledge to be responsive and accessible to all members of the community.

Youth Sports Facilities
With no park district in the area, organizations supporting youth soccer, football and baseball are in dire need of playing fields and facilities. I believe a great opportunity exists to begin a long term public/private project to provide such a facility to serve the Kaneland area.

Development
The Village of Elburn has a well-defined vision of its future and what it considers to be smart and appropriate growth. I will support this vision as your Kane County Board representative.

Kaneville
Transportation
The citizens of Kaneville voted 81% against the building of the Prairie Parkway in a recent advisory referendum. I will honor that position with my opposition to it, and truly “represent” the position of the people of Kaneville township at the county board level.

Growth
I will work to preserve Kaneville’s small town charm by supporting the Village Boards wishes on development issues that may arise.

Boundary Agreements
The county board representative for District 26 is in an ideal position to work with our rural communities when municipal boundary agreements are in question. I would seek fair and mutually agreeable solutions when this issue arises.

La Fox
Development
The reason I am running for County Board representative stems from my 6 ˝ year involvement with a great group of citizens known as the Concerned La Fox Area Residents. For more information on this successful smart growth story, go to www.lafox.us. It is important for the community to have an active, responsive advocate on the County Board to see that the many positive accomplishments that were agreed upon by the County and the developer become a reality.

Representation
Many community leaders and local citizens are disappointed in the level of responsiveness and representation the community is getting from our current representative. I pledge to be responsive and accessible to all members of the community.

Train Whistles As a resident of Brundige Road, I am well aware of the inconvenience of the multiple train whistles every hour along the Union Pacific west line. With the development of the La Fox area, opportunities exist to work with the La Fox Civic Organization, developers, and Mill Creek residents to create silent zones at La Fox Road and Brundige Road.

Maple Park
Preservation
The Village is looking to preserve the historic old high school building currently serving as a community center. I would like to help secure grant monies to assist in that worthy effort. I would also help Maple Park pursue Community Development Block Grant monies for new sidewalks in the community.

Downtown Redevelopment
I believe that a very exciting opportunity exists in downtown Maple Park for revitalization as the community adds residents in the coming years. I would love to work with Village officials to promote a one block revitalization effort to act as a demonstration for downtown redevelopment possibilities. I envision a public/private partnership to develop a plan to remodel building facades, replace sidewalks and curbs, etc, and to recruit viable small business operators into the downtown. If new commercial construction continues, as it will, near Rt. 38, the downtown will continue to be drained of activity. Every community needs a heart and soul area and strip centers and gas stations do not offer that.

Youth Sports Facilities
With no park district in the area, organizations supporting youth soccer, football and baseball are in dire need of playing fields and facilities. I believe a great opportunity exists to begin a long term public/private project to provide such a facility to serve the Maple Park area.

Mill Creek
Taxes
Taxes are killing people in Mill Creek, making it very difficult for families to keep up. At the County, we must do our fair share of easing the tax burden by living within our means. I believe a review of all SSA fees and other add-ons Mill Creek residents receive on their tax bill is in order.

Policing
As an unincorporated community, Mill Creek is dependent on the Kane County Sheriffs Department for security. I would support the sheriff and his department in increasing the number of patrol cars on our roads in order to reduce response time and increase the police presence in Mill Creek.

Train Whistles
As a resident of Brundige Road, I am well aware of the inconvenience of the multiple train whistles every hour along the Union Pacific west line. With the development of the La Fox area, opportunities exist to work with the La Fox Civic Organization, developers, and Mill Creek residents to create silent zones at La Fox Road and Brundige Road.

Sugar Grove
Transportation
My wife and I were in Sugar Grove recently on a Saturday and traffic along Rt. 47 was at a crawl through town. The good news is that people are out and moving through town and willing to support its businesses. The bad news is Rt. 47 is long overdue for improvements that will make it user friendly and functional and encourage motorists to support Sugar Grove businesses. I believe this should have priority over the Prairie Parkway for funding as it is years overdue as opposed to the Prairie Parkway being decades ahead of its time.

Growth
Many agencies have projected mind-boggling growth for the Sugar Grove area in the next few decades. I personally hope that growth occurs but at a more moderate and manageable rate that will allow Sugar Grove to maintain its identity and appeal.

Exciting opportunities exist to create a downtown district that will act as a heart of the community and gathering place. I will support Sugar Grove officials in promoting smart, appropriate growth that fits their vision and is not a burden to the taxpayers.

Representation
I have met with many elected officials, community leaders and citizens from Sugar Grove and many are disappointed in the level of responsiveness and representation the Village is getting from the current county board representative. I pledge to be responsive and accessible to all members of the community.
